...DAY #4...
there are probably MORE than just ONE habit I wish I didn't have, hehe! but first things first...like most, or maybe just SOME of us, I kinda wish I didn't have the "just because we have money, i'll go & spend it now" habit!! lol...that is my #1 WORST habit of all time...ask my husband! I will find any reason to spend what little money we may have left, whether it be for myself, or for my kids, or just for fun...I {heart} $$$$$$!!!! haha
~DAY #3~
hmmmmm....a picture of me & my friends? the only picture(s) i have of me & any of my friends, is from before I had my first child...lol...so that will have to do!!
(this picture is from 1999--Kahiki, Me, Foga, Sun, & G)
(1999--chillin' at 7's after a BYU-H dance)
(2001 at my daughter's 1st bday party--Marvel, Me w/Kacey, & Mary)
So those are a few pictures that I was able to salvage from what I do have left! The "new" friends that I've made since then, I haven't really had the chance, nor the time, to pose for a picture with them!! But if/when I do, i'll put them up!

THAT'S IT?? WTH!?!
This week hasn't been a good one for me, as far as working out!! My "trainer" goes to school on Monday & Tuesday nights, so I tend to kinda "slack-off"...shhhhh, don't tell! hahahahahahaha...i mean, I DO work out, but I work out even more when he is home telling me what to do, & how long to do it for...PATHETIC, i know! But this morning, I had to go weigh-in for the week, and BOY DID IT SHOW!! LOL...i only lost .6 lbs, which is pretty much NOTHING to me! So, I was kinda angry & frustrated with myself for being so dang lazy!! What made it worse was the fact that everyone else in the group just walks, and cuts down on what they eat, and here I am, WORKING MY BUTT OFF(sometimes), and when we go to weigh in, they lose more than I did...ahhhhhhhh!!! This morning, after the weigh-in, I came home and asked my husband, "Why is it that I WORK OUT HARD, and all they do is WALK, but yet they still lose more than I do?? I think I should just GO WALK with them too!!" HA....can you imagine the response?????? LOL....he told me, "So, are you telling me that you wanna just go walking with everyone else?? The one thing they do that helps them lose more than you is they CUT-BACK on their eating..." (and for those of you who REALLY do know me, I AM A JUNK-FOOD "JUNKIE"...like seriously!!) So my husband/eternal companion/BFF/"trainer" told me that I need to, for the next 2 weeks, stop eating the things I LOVE THE MOST......SWEETS!! He says 2 weeks, just so we can see if it will work for me, and if it doesn't, that means that I'm just NOT WORKING OUT HARD ENOUGH!!

With all that HONESTY from the LOVE OF MY LIFE, hahahahaha, we decided to go and buy our own scale(the kind that measures your BMI, water weight, & tracks weight history) cause I'm the type that LOVES to see the results RIGHT AWAY...he also got me a heartrate monitor/pedometer, which measures your pulse, the number of steps you take, how far you've ran or walked, and how many calories you burn. I was so excited that as soon as we got home, I opened up the scale and programmed everything, and jumped on it...DID NOT LIKE WHAT I SAW, because it was MORE than what I weighed in at this morning. So I went straight to the basement to start my work-out! I put on my "new" toy, and started running in place...more like SPRINTING to me, hahahaha! I ran for 3 miles, 1 hour & 11 minutes, burned 233 calories, took over 9,000 steps, and heart rate got up to 174...so I was going pretty good! After I was done, I was soaked in my own sweat, probably the hardest I've sweat in a LOOOOOOOOOONG TIME, hahaha. Anyways, I went and took a shower, and right after, jumped back onto the scale again, and to MY SURPRISE....in that short amount of time, I LOST 6lbs & 3 percent of body fat!! I was soooooooooo happy just to see that!! So from now on, because I know IT'S POSSIBLE, and because it really does PAY OFF, I am going to work HARD everytime!!! I PROMISE!! Anyhow, sorry for the long update, but it's almost been a week and thought you all would LOVE AN UPDATE!!! thanks for reading!! till next time.....tata for now!!Monday, May 10, 2010
sLaCkEr!
I have been such a "SLACKER" lately!! I haven't been keeping up with my blog...i don't even remember the last thing I posted without scrolling down to see it :( But there have definitely been some things that have changed, I know that for sure...haha! Here are the changes:
--I recently joined a small group of SAMOAN people out here in Missouri in a BIGGEST LOSER challenge, so I am no longer doing this on my own!
--I have a new calling in church, in addition to my current calling as the librarian...i am now the Mia Maid advisor in the Young Women's program!! :)
So with all that out, this post is pretty much an "update" post, if you will! In an earlier post, I noted that I was doing "my own" BIGGEST LOSER challenge with my husband, and also stated what the end PRIZE would be. Well, that is actually still on....but I have now joined another BIGGEST LOSER challenge with 8 other SAMOAN people in our local community that are striving to better their lives by exercising, eating healthy, and losing weight. To join, all 9 of us paid $20 to the "pot". Every Saturday morning we weigh in....if you GAIN weight(regardless of how much), you pay $3 to the "pot"....if you LOSE weight, you don't owe anything!! However, if you are at a stand still, where you haven't GAINED or LOSS anything, you pay $2 to the "pot"! This competetion is going on for 3 months, so that "pot" could actually grow, and at the end of the 3 months, whoever has lost the most weight, wins the "pot"! As much as I would LOOOOOOOOOOVE to win the "pot", I will be happy just to lose the weight! But my husband's mentality is....YOU ARE GOING TO WIN, especially since I paid $20 to do this when I could do it for free!! hahahaha...but for me, I guess I like it better when there is competetion!!! So, I'll do my best to keep you all updated with my progress!! Oh yeah, I joined 2 weeks ago, and had my first official weigh-in this past Saturday and lost 3.8lbs, so hopefully the number on the scale keeps going DOWN, and the weight loss number keeps going UP! ;)
**As for my new calling in church, I'm enjoying it so far! I used to be the Valiant 9 teacher in Primary, was released, then called to be the ward librarian!! I LOVE IT...then a few weeks ago the bishop asked to talk to me, so I thought I was getting released....huh, come to find out, I was actually getting ANOTHER CALL!! (i'm not complaining or anything, hahaha) But anyways, it has been fun so far, and I hope it stays that way!! I love my Mia Maids already, and I've only taught them 2 Sundays. :)
***And lastly...........my wedding ring!! When I was pregnant with my daughter in 2006, I did have to remove my wedding ring, but was able to put it back on soon after I gave birth to my daughter. But with my son, I had to take it off when I was about 6 months pregnant because my finger was just TOOOOOO SWOLLEN!! (mind you, this pregnancy is when I got the BIGGEST I've ever been) After I had him, I tried to put my ring back on, but it wouldn't go pass my knuckle. I would keep trying every now & then, but no luck!! Since I've been working out these last 2 months or so, I guess it's starting to pay off, but I am able to wear my wedding ring again, after more than a year...ahhhhhhhh!!! So you can imagine how happy I was when it went on, LOL!!
**Other than all that, everything else has been the same!! In exactly a week from today, on Monday, May 17th, my one & only son will be turning 1...where has the time gone??? On his actualy birthday we are planning to just have a lil' something at home, but we are having a party for him on May 29th, so we've been kinda busy planning it! So, I will do my best to keep up on my posts...if not, you'll see one eventually!! lol...

WOW, i can't believe I DID IT!!!
I've decided that from now on, i'll do a weekly update instead of a daily one! Anyhow, this morning we got up at 6am to go running at an elementary school nearby. Yesterday we didn't get to workout due to a death in the extended family....and so because of that, my "personal trainer"/husband, told me that I had to run 3 miles today! I was like, WHAAAAAAAAAT?????? Are you kidding me? I "HATE" RUNNING...and you want me to run 3 WHOLE MILES??? The whole morning I was thinking, I am gonna die...I can't do this...I was seriously trying to think up a really good excuse for me to stop at either 1 1/2-2 miles in! And sad to say........I couldn't work up the courage to ask my "trainer" if I could just STOP and finish it later on in the day, cause 1) he woulda said "NO" anyway, & 2) like I said in a previous post, when it's time to work-out, he doesn't "give a rats!!" lol! Sooooooo, you know what I did???

I RAN ALL 3 MILES, without stopping!!! Wait, I did stop to take a tiny sip of water, and was right back at it to finish off the race...haha! But I really did finish those 3 miles without dropping to the ground, or making up some LAME excuse to stop! I mean, I have to admit, my feet were killing me, but that's what happens when I wear shoes that are too narrow for my WIDE feet, LOL. I was so proud of myself for FINISHING IT!! I haven't done that since I was a senior in highschool playing volleyball for my mother, who used to make us run from Malaekahana back to the highschool gym.(but I think that was only like a mile though) In the end, I was able to walk away with my head kinda held high, haha!
